Photoshop Tutorials
I like being Web 2.0, as you might be able to tell. Beta stickers and gradients are things I use every day. Lately I’ve been experimenting in Photoshop on some different logo designs, and have been searching the net for some good tutorials. If you’re a PS n00b, I’d recommend using tutorials to teach you skills. That’s how I learned mine. Anyway, I thought I’d share the tutorials I’ve been using on our header images, and some good ones you might use more than me. Click on for the links!
To be able to make all those neat Web 2.0 graphics, look at theses tutorials:
Quick Wet Floor Effect – an easy to understand tutorial to get a wet floor effect
Web 2.0 Design Kit – an all-in-one tutorial for a Web 2.0 site (don’t forget to check out part 2, where they tech you how to make those great diagonal lines)
A Gradient Tutorial – all about gradients: how to make ‘em and what looks good
Web 2.0 Badge Photoshop Tutorial – a great tutorial on making a ‘Beta’ badge; I prefer this one over the Web 2.0 Design Kit’s part on badges
Misc:
4 Easy Techniques to Make Your Pictures Pop! – This tutorial is one of my favorites. It illustrates some very simple ways to enhance your photograph
Glass Text – a great introduction to layer styles, this will show you how to make your text look like glass
Sites:
PhotoshopStar – a nice website with easy tutorials
Photoshopit – a fellow WordPress site with some tutorials
PhotoshopCafe – my favorite site for PS tutorials, it has really good tutorials ranging from beginner to advanced
