Ask X: Ask.com goes 2.0
06Feb07
You know, it seems like it’s been a long time since I’ve seen Jeeves. AskJeeves was my favorite search engine, but no more. They axed Jeeves and moved on to Ask.com, and now (*2001: A Space Oddysey theme music*) Ask X!
Ask X is the needed, and eventual, Web 2.0 update to all good search engines. A shiney red-to-silver gradient greets you in the background, with the Ask.com logo and search bar in their familiar places. The logo has a reflection, though, and it links, strangely enough, to this Flickr page. Looks like the employees had a little fun here…

I just came across your post on ask blog search. thanks for picking up on the logo thing – we had some fun with that! let me know if there’s anything you really want to see more of with AskX, because we haven’t finished there
I’d like to see an infinite scrollbar in the search, so you don’t have to move to the next page. I liked using it on Windows Live, but they removed it for the final release.
And maybe something like Google X on the homepage (http://www.theplaceforitall.com/googlex/)
